Frequently Asked Questions
We have added this section to answer many of the questions people
often ask us while we are meeting with them.
Q:
Will my water bill go up?
A: If you have never watered your lawn before, yes.
If you have been watering your lawn using a garden hose and
sprinkler, you may notice a reduction in your water bill.
If you are on the town sewer line and have a sewer charge
based on your water use, we will install a separate water
meter for the irrigation system and will not be billed a sewer
charge for watering the lawn. |

Q:
What happens when it rains?
A: Every system we install includes a rain sensor. The
sensor measures rainfall and over-rides the system after a certain
amount of rain has fallen. Once things dry up the sensor shuts
down and the system goes back online. You don't have to do a
thing.
Q:
Will I ever need to call a plumber?
A: No. We have a Master Plumber on staff for all installations
and for any problems or repairs that would require a licensed
plumber.
Q:
What is a backflow preventer and why do I need one?
A: A backflow preventer is a device that allows water to
flow in only one direction. Its purpose in an irrigation system
is to allow water to exit a home or building for watering the
lawn while keeping it from coming back into the building. A backflow
device must be installed on all systems that tie it to a public
water supply. These devices must be tested by a certified Technician
annually. Our technicians are certified in Maine, New Hampshire,
and Massachusetts to test and repair these devices.
Q:
What brand of products do you use?
A: We use Hunter
products for sprinkler heads, control boxes, and zone valves.
They are high quality, professional products and we have been
very happy with their performance.
